Advisory 1: For those who are joining the 3rd day of the seminar, we advise you to reserve a slot with a P 1, 500 fee so that we can submit all the participants' names to the tour operator. Kindly refer to our Land Bank account number. [As of March 15, 2012, Underground River is fully booked. We shall reserve you a slot if you can provide us a copy of your eTicket].

Advisory 2: April is a peak season in Puerto Princesa. Register and pay as early as now to be among the first 60 to be booked at Skylight Hotel. The organizers have the right to transfer any participant to a nearby hotel if in case Skylight Hotel gets fully-booked. Thank you for your understanding.

Advisory 3: Underground River is fully-booked as of March 15, 2012. Honda Bay will be the alternative tour destination for April 20. Rebates will be given to those who will choose the Honda Bay tour. Thank you for your understanding.

Application for new membership is until February 17, 2012. Afterwhich, all new members will be charged as early-bird / regular rate. Active members can pay their seminar fees on-site without additional charges. Active members are those who paid their membership dues from January 2011-February 17, 2012.

Achieving a Balanced Scorecard: Best Practices in Philippine Special Libraries

The Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines (ASLP), Inc. in cooperation with the Economic and Financial Learning Center will have its 2nd National Congress of Special Libraries of the Philippines with the theme, “Achieving a Balanced Scorecard: Best Practices in Philippine Special Libraries” on August 2 - 3, 2012 at the Economic and Financial Learning Center (EFLC) Audio-Visual Room – Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Roxas Blvd., Manila.

The objectives of the congress are as follows:

to update the librarians and information professionals of the current status of special libraries in the Philippines;

to showcase the best practices achieved by the highly recognized special libraries in the country;

to share the excellent and innovative experiences that special libraries in the Philippines already established; and

to promote the outstanding special libraries in the country.

Fees:

Member: Php 2, 000
Non-member: Php 2, 500

Congress fee includes the following: kit, certificates of participation/appearance, lunch, morning and afternoon snacks.

Look Good, Feel Great Always: Empowering Tips for Librarians and Information Specialists

The Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines (ASLP) will hold a forum during the 33rd Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) with the topic "Look Good, Feel Great Always: Empowering Tips for Librarians and Information Specialists"on Thursday, 13th September 2012, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the SMX Convention Center, Seashell Lane, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City, 1300.

Through this forum, the participants will be able to learn how to create a simple personal care plan that will keep you always fit and on the go.

Our resource person is Hon. Lucy Torres-Gomez (Representative, Leyte, 4th District) a highly regarded resource speaker in the field of wellness and good grooming. She will share with us her expertise, knowledge and give us tips on how to look good, feel great always physically, emotionally and spiritually in dealing with our day-to-day library clientele and co-employees.

Librarians, library administrators, archivists, record officers, support staff, teachers and students of Library & Information Science, consultants and other information professionals are invited to attend the said seminar/workshop.

ASLP in partnership with Annak ti Batac, Inc. (ABI) will be having a book donation and outreach program for the students of Mariano Marcos Memorial Elementary School Learning Center on November 22-23, 2012.

Basic Library Management and Technical Services Skills

The Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines (ASLP) in partnership with the Annak ti Batac, Inc. (ABI) will hold a seminar on “Basic Library Management and
Technical Services Skills”. This shall coincide with the celebration of the “Library and Information Services” Month on November. The seminar will be held on 23rd November
2012, at the Mariano Marcos Memorial Elementary School Learning Center, Barangay Valdez, Batac City, Province of Ilocos Norte from 9:00AM to 5:00PM. Registration
starts at 8:00AM.

A registration fee of Php 1, 000.00 will be assessed to cover meals, kits and certificate. We encourage advance payments to reserve a slot.
